People Make the Place: Meet Sara
We have a hard-working, talented, team of staff and volunteers that make it happen everyday at PUP. And we like to to #humblebrag about them.
Meet Sara, our rockstar volunteer who came on staff this fall as a part-time studio assistant and now helps us cut, clean, and process materials for reuse. If you've bought a bag recently, she probably had a hand in it's making.
When did you start working/volunteering with PUP? Summer 2017.
What prompted you to get involved? I love the PUP mission, the awesome bag designs, and their desire to create less waste and raise awareness of how much waste ends up in the landfill. We can create a circular economy by giving new life to things that would have been otherwise thrown away.
When you're not cutting down vinyl banners and leather seats you, what are you up to? I'm the Community Outreach Project Manager at Connection Pointe Christian Church.
Where is your favorite place to spend time in Indianapolis? Broad Ripple
What are you excited about right now? Spreading awareness about the benefits of shopping secondhand through my thrifting and reselling business.
What are you currently binge-watching on Netflix? Parks and Rec is always my go to Netflix show.
What is something you passionate about? Zero Waste/Low Waste Living (she just started a blog about her journey, check it out here!).
Do you have a pet? No
Choose! Curly fries or Tater tots? Tater tots.
Choose! Superhero flicks or Supernatural thrillers? Supernatural thrillers.
